Worthington Swim Families, As I’m sure you are aware, Coach Scott Colby has tendered his resignation to Swiminc in order to pursue an outstanding career opportunity with USA Swimming at their headquarters in Colorado . For the record, we are extremely proud of Scott for having been selected for this position, and are confident that he will achieve great success at the national level. Our loss is certainly USA Swimming’s gain, and we sincerely wish him the very best in his new endeavors. Scott has been a terrific coach, a great employee, a committed leader, and a fabulous friend to athletes, families, parents, and coaches, and he will certainly be missed by the greater Worthington Swim family. During his tenure, WOR has excelled in all aspects of our mission, and we are thankful for his contributions to the Worthington Swim Club. Make no mistake about it; we wanted to keep Coach Colby in Worthington . He has represented himself, our team, and our swimmers with class and honor, even to now fulfilling his commitment to coach the team through the end of the long-course season before beginning his new career. In the end, we understand his decision, and trust that he will take the pride of Worthington with him in his new role with USA Swimming. We will pursue a very comprehensive search, and are pleased that Scott has even offered to assist us in naming his replacement. In the wake of Scott’s leadership, our swimmers and our swim team are in terrific shape, and we should expect to attract extremely qualified candidates. We have an aggressive schedule, and will do our best to communicate our progress along the way. In the next few days, please look for further announcements regarding our selection committee and our process. In meantime, please join us in thanking Scott and congratulating him on his new position. Best Regards, Scott Rechel, President, Swiminc, Inc. Board of Directors

from Coach Scott
I am honored to have been offered and accepted the
position of Sport Performance Consultant at USA Swimming
headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this role, I
will be traveling around the country coaching other coaches with the
goal of producing more national level athletes for this country! In
addition I will be recording race data (stroke rates,
distance per stroke, etc.) at all USA National Championships, and
all USA Swimming Camps including international level camps, USA
National Team Camps, Zone Select Camps, etc. Consequently, I have
resigned my position as Head Coach of Worthington Swim Club
effective at the end of this long course season. Please know that I thoroughly enjoy coaching for the Worthington Swim Club, and my decision has everything to do with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and a great move for my professional career. The position is something I've wanted to eventually do and it has fallen in place much earlier than I had hoped. It was a very, very difficult decision, but I feel I must seize this opportunity. The athletes, parents and coaches of WOR have been spectacular, and Swiminc has been a pleasure to work for . I appreciate being hired and been given the opportunity to coach the Worthington Swim Club, and I appreciate everyone's great support throughout my tenure. I actually offered, and Swiminc has accepted, my assistance in the screening process for the next Head Coach. I am committed to providing a smooth transition for our program, and most importantly, our athletes. I have two main goals for the remainder of the summer:Do the very best job coaching that I can in order to "Go out with a bang!" Assist in any way I can for a smooth transition to the next Head Coach. I am very proud of the long way we have come in three years. We have expanded from 45 swimmers in the Spring/Summer to 120. We have grown from 75 swimmers in the Winter to 170. We have climbed up from 25th to 13th at the State JO Championships. We are producing nationally ranked swimmers. But, most importantly, we have a closeness, camaraderie, and a positive attitude to continue to make make this a special place where we can have fun and still be as fast as we can! Very few teams in the state can say that!I am confident Worthington Swim Club - YOU - EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU - (Athletes, Coaches, Parents, Boosters, and Swiminc) will carry our momentum forward into the future. I love my time here. If it weren't for this job offer, I would stay here. I will always have a special place in my heart for ALL THE PEOPLE at Worthington Swim Club. Coach Scott
