Head Coach Bernard Vrancken is a native of Waterloo, Belgium where he swam on the national team. He came to the US as an exchange student and became a freestyle and IM specialist. He was an All-American swimmer in the mid-distance and distance events for The Ohio State University. He graduated in 1995 with a degree in Marketing and International Business. Coach Bernard has 13 years of experience coaching high school and age group swimmers, including 4 years as Head Coach for the Worthington Swim Club. He coaches the Advanced Age Group training groups. He is an ASCA Level 4 Coach.

Coach Angie Provo is a Worthington resident.  She has coached the Bengal Tiger in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was an assistant for Dublin Scioto High School. A competitive swimmer from age 7 through high school, Angie brings an extensive background to our club. Angie holds a Masters Degree in MIS from LSU.  She recently resigned from her job with AEP to enroll in nursing school. This is her ninth season at Worthington. She coaches the Gold group. She is an ASCA Level 1 Coach.

Coach Stephanie Asman has 15 years of competitive swimming experience under various coaches including Coach Bernard. She has coached for 10 years, most notably as Head Coach of the WAVE team the past 5 Summer seasons. Coach Stephanie is attending nursing school. She coaches the Bronze and Silver groups.  She is an ASCA Level 2 Coach.

Coach Amelia Loge has a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Akron where she was a four year varsity letter winner. She swam for Thomas Worthingon High School and was captain senior year in both swimming and water polo. A breaststroke specialist, she was an assistant coach for the Worthington Wave in 2004. She coaches the Age Group training group.  She is an ASCA Level 1 Coach.

Coach Jim Callahan has been the head coach of both TWHS and WKHS for the past 26 years. He graduated from Solon HS, where he was a state finalist, then went to OSU graduating in 1981 with a degree in PE. While at OSU, Coach Jim lettered 4 years and was captain his senior year. Jim earned his master in sports administration at Northeast Missouri State. He teaches Physical Education at Brookside Elementary and has won several national championships as a Masters swimmer. Coach Jim is married to Dara and has 3 children. His weekly practice with Adv. 2 is always highly anticipated by swimmers.

Coach Chris Vondran is a native of Lima, Ohio.  Chris was the 1989 Ohio High School State Champion in the 100 breast.  He swam for the Ohio State Men's Swim Team from 1989 - 1991. He graduated in 1995 with a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture.  Chris has 4 years coaching experience as the volunteer assistant coach at OSU from 2000 - 2004. He is married to Tracy and has 3 children. 

Coach Andrew Arra (dryland coach) attended The Ohio State University where he has recently graduated with honors, obtaining his B.S. from the College of Human Ecology, specializing in Human Nutrition & Dietetics.  Andrew obtained his personal training certification from World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S) and is licensed to practice dietetics in Ohio. He is currently working as a Clinical Dietitian at Mount Carmel East--an acute care 300+ bed hospital.

Coach Monica Whittington was born in the Columbus area. She picked up competitive swimming at age 7 in State College, PA. Moving back to Ohio in middle school, Monica has trained & competed with both UA and GCSTO and graduated from Buckeye Valley High School. She has 8 years coaching experience beginning at the Powell Y and continuing with Northwest Swim Club. Monica balances both her continued education at Columbus State with her full time job in hotel sales. 

Coach Alex Blohm started swimming at age 7 and was a distance swimmer for Stow High School.  Coach Alex has taught swim lessons for the Worthington Pools and coached swimmers age 4 to 18 in Hudson, Ohio.  He also coached a Masters team with 4 swimmers ranked in the top 10 in their respective events and age groups at Nationals.  He is currently as student at The Ohio State University and proud member of the The OSU Marching Band.
